Family & Prenatal Yoga Retreat

at Sykia, Xylokastro, only an hour drive from Athens

with daily classes:

- Prenatal Yoga

- Yoga for parent(s)

- Yoga for parent and baby

 

This retreat is ideal for

- pregnant ladies/families and

- parents with babies and children

The place where we will spend the weekend is right next to the unspoiled beach of Sykia and the unique “Pefkias” pine forest. This little forest offers a lovely half-an-hour walk (the path is carrycot accessible) and the beach is just a few meters away. It is ideal both for pregnancy and for babies and young children.

 

 

 

 

Daphne's Club is very much baby and children-friendly and it is surrounded by a beautiful garden, so that you will always feel close to nature.

There will be 6 yoga sessions, all led by Maja Zilih:

- two gentle and fun yoga classes on Saturday and Sunday morning for one parent and the baby and

- two more dynamic yoga classes on Friday and Saturday afternoon for the parent(s)

- two specifically designed prenatal yoga classes on Saturday and Sunday afternoon. For more on prenatal yoga click here.

AND a breastfeeding sesson led by Katerina Michailidou, an Ιnternational Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC), maternity assistant (CPD), and post-partum caregiver.

 

Price: 260 Euros per family. Includes accommodation, bio-breakfast and all yoga sessions.

A few words on yoga for mom and baby: The session cosists of:

- yoga poses and breathing techniques for the mom

- yoga poses for the baby

- yoga poses for mom and baby together

- infant developmental movements,

- infant massage

- deep relaxation for mommy and baby together

- The yoga postures and movements are particularly designed for new moms to relieve tension in the neck, shoulders and back, as well as to strengthen the weak areas after birth.

- It helps moms re-discover the magic power of the breath, especially for the situations when they need to be calm and rest

- It helps moms grow more confident with their babies, because they learn natural ways to calm and connect with their baby on a deeper level

- It strengthens the bond between mom and the baby

- And of course moms enjoy making friends with other moms and babies enjoy being around other babies!

Babies benefit enormously from mom & baby yoga because:

- it helps babies grow physically and emotionally, developing awareness and positive sense of their bodies

- it fortifies the baby’s trust in the parent

- it strengthens the bond between the baby and the parent.

- it helps babies sleep better and longer,

- it eases gas pain and helps babies digest more easily,

- it reduces anxiety and developmental stress, as it teaches relaxation techniques
